It works with your own anatomy, cannot remove significant fat or change bone, and results vary from person to person.

The protocol
What is the V-Lift?
A V-shaped face — slim, with a defined jawline and a sharp chin — is widely associated with youth, vitality and elegance. The V-Lift is Dr Nina’s doctor-led protocol for facial slimming: rather than one product, she prescribes a personalised combination of treatments to soften facial width and refine the lower face, working with your own proportions.
Depending on what is widening your face, a V-Lift plan may combine hyaluronic-acid dermal fillers to lift and define the cheekbones and chin, jawline slimming injections to relax an enlarged jaw muscle, and energy-based devices to firm the skin and refine the under-chin. By defining the cheekbones and chin while slimming the jaw, the face is visually narrowed and lengthened toward a V — softening a square or round shape into a more feminine outline.
The V-Lift is one of several Dr Nina signature protocols. If your concern is lower-face laxity and lift rather than width, see the W-Lift; and read the honest limitations below for where the V-Lift cannot help.
What it can help
What the V-Lift can address
The V-Lift is designed to reduce the appearance of facial width and create a slimmer, more defined V-shape, using a bespoke combination plan.
Honest suitability
Is the V-Lift right for you?
The V-Lift is not for everyone — and we will tell you honestly if it is not the best option for you. Final suitability and your exact plan are always confirmed at consultation.
Often well suited
- A round or square face you would like to look slimmer
- A wide jaw driven by an enlarged chewing (masseter) muscle
- Puffy cheeks or soft mid-face that widens the face
- A soft jawline, double chin or upper-neck widening
- Wanting a defined V-shape without surgery
- Realistic expectations of a subtle, gradual refinement
May not be suitable
- Facial width driven mainly by significant fat better suited to other options
- Width that is largely skeletal and may need surgical assessment
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding (subject to clinic policy)
- Active infection or skin condition in the treatment area
- Certain medical conditions identified at consultation
- Expecting a dramatic, surgery-level change to face shape
The approach
How a V-Lift plan works, step by step
- Consultation & assessmentDr Nina assesses what is widening your face — muscle, volume, fat or skin laxity — discusses your goals and confirms whether a V-Lift plan is suitable or whether another option is safer or more effective.
- Your bespoke planDr Nina designs a personalised combination — which may include dermal fillers, jawline slimming injections or energy devices — and explains the sequence, downtime and a written price.
- Treatment beginsYour chosen treatments are carried out comfortably in clinic, with topical numbing where injectables are used. Some elements may be staged across more than one visit.
- Slimming developsFiller-based definition can be visible quickly, while jaw-slimming injections take a few weeks as the muscle gradually reduces; energy-led firming builds over the following weeks.
- Review & maintenanceYour result is reviewed and refined where needed, and a sensible maintenance plan is discussed so the V-shape is kept looking natural over time.
“The V-Lift is about balance — defining the cheekbones and chin while softening width, so the face looks slimmer and more elegant, never gaunt.”
The Facial Sculpting approach · Dr Nina BalBefore treatment
What happens at your consultation
A consultation is required before any V-Lift plan, because the treatment is entirely bespoke. During your initial consultation with Dr Nina and her team you will have a clinical assessment to establish what is widening your face — muscle, volume, fat or laxity — and your suitability for treatment reviewed. You will be talked through the proposed plan in detail, what to expect during and after, and given the opportunity to ask questions.
The consultation covers your medical history, a facial-anatomy assessment, your suitability and any contraindications, realistic expected outcomes, alternatives if a V-Lift is not ideal, aftercare, and confirmation of your individual plan and price in writing before anything is booked.
Results & recovery
What to expect afterwards
Because the V-Lift is a bespoke combination, downtime depends entirely on the components in your plan. Filler and muscle-relaxing injections may cause temporary swelling, tenderness or small bruises that usually settle within a few days, while energy-based treatments have their own recovery profile. Dr Nina explains the expected downtime for your specific plan before you proceed, and you receive tailored aftercare guidance.
Results & longevity: some definition is visible soon after treatment, while jaw slimming develops over a few weeks as the muscle reduces, and firming builds over the following weeks. Many patients see optimal results around two to three months. Results are not permanent — injectables are gradually metabolised — so maintenance is usually advised. Outcomes vary with anatomy, lifestyle and skin quality.
Typical results timeline
Any swelling, tenderness or minor bruising from injectable elements begins to settle.
Cheek and chin definition settles; jaw-slimming injections begin to take visible effect.
The jaw muscle softens further and firming matures; the V-shape looks its most defined.
Results last months depending on the treatments used; maintenance keeps the shape.
Safety
Possible risks & side effects
As with any medical aesthetic treatment, a V-Lift carries some risks, which depend on the specific components used. Injectable elements may cause temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness or, rarely, lumps or asymmetry that can be addressed; jaw-slimming injections may cause temporary chewing changes, and energy-based elements carry their own small risks. Less common risks are discussed individually at consultation, and Dr Nina will only proceed when she believes the plan is appropriate for you.
Careful assessment of what is actually widening the face is central to a safe, natural result — slimming the wrong structure can look hollow rather than refined. If anything is unexpected after treatment, you can contact the clinic for advice.
Honest limitations
What a V-Lift can and cannot do
- It cannot remove large volumes of fat or replace surgical contouring.
- It cannot change your underlying bone structure.
- It does not deliver a single, permanent result — maintenance is usually needed.
- It is not a weight-loss treatment, and a very heavy double chin may need another route.
Compare your options
The V-Lift vs other approaches
A simple, honest comparison of the V-Lift against related routes — to help you and Dr Nina choose well.
| Approach | Best for | Invasiveness | Downtime |
|---|---|---|---|
| The V-Lift | Slimming a wide or round face into a V-shape | Combination — injectables and/or energy | Depends on plan |
| The W-Lift | Lifting & redefining a softening lower face | Combination — injectables and/or energy | Depends on plan |
| Jawline Slimming | Slimming a wide jaw from a strong muscle | Muscle-relaxing injection | Minimal |
| Chin Sculpting | Projecting & defining a weak chin | Dermal filler | Minimal |
| Endolift® | Under-chin fullness & jawline firming | Minimally invasive laser, local anaesthetic | Minimal (~1 day) |
| Surgical contouring | Largely skeletal width / significant fat | Surgical, specialist referral | Several weeks |
A V-Lift commonly pairs jawline slimming with cheek and chin definition, and may add Endolift® for the under-chin. The right combination is decided honestly at consultation.
Transparent pricing
How much does the V-Lift cost?
The V-Lift is priced on application, because every plan is built around your face — your exact cost is confirmed in writing after consultation.
Bespoke V-Lift plan
The V-Lift is a tailored combination treatment, so it does not have a single fixed price (the original page lists it as POA — price on application). The cost depends on which treatments make up your personalised plan — for example dermal fillers, jawline slimming injections or energy devices. Dr Nina confirms your plan and its full price in writing after your consultation (from £200), with no obligation to proceed.

What our patients say about Facial Sculpting Clinic
Real reviews from patients who chose Dr Nina Bal and the Facial Sculpting team.
Dr Nina fixed the asymmetry of my eyebrows in one session. Her experience and expertise is second to none and she made me feel so comfortable before, during and after my consultation. Definitely coming back.
I have just had my first Endolift with Dr Nina and the results were nothing short of amazing!!! The whole procedure was painless and results were instant, I was so shocked when I looked in the mirror. It is one of the best treatments I have done. Dr Nina is fantastic, she is so lovely and so knowledgeable. This is a must have treatment.
Dottor Nina super star! The clinic is beautiful, it makes you feel safe doing any procedure. I had my lips done twice in other places and I was in pain and also my lips looked too big, duck lips. Dottor Nina made my lips look beautiful and natural, she adviced not to go too much, so we did only 0.5ml. I did not feel pain during the procedure and my lips have only small bruises. The nurse also was very nice, she took care of my baby. I would definitely recommend dottor Nina. Price wise is a bit higher than the average but worth it. I will definitely go back. Maria
Dr Nina provided an amazing service and made me feel really comfortable. Highly recommend!!
I had a fabulous experience with Dr Nina. I had a Botox treatment which was the best I’ve had. She was very thorough and took time and care during the treatment to tailor it to my exact needs. I will certainly be returning for more treatments! A true professional who really knows her stuff.
Your questions
The V-Lift: your questions answered
What is the V-Lift?
The V-Lift is one of Dr Nina Bal’s signature protocols at Facial Sculpting — a bespoke, non-surgical slimming treatment designed to reduce the appearance of facial width and create a slimmer, more defined V-shaped face. Rather than a single product, it is a personalised plan that may combine dermal fillers, jawline slimming injections and energy-based devices.
What is a V-shaped face?
A V-shaped face is slim and tapered, with prominent cheekbones, a defined jawline and a sharp chin — an outline often associated with youth, femininity and elegance. The V-Lift aims to move a rounder or more square face gently toward this shape by defining the upper face while slimming the lower face.
What treatments does the V-Lift combine?
It is tailored to you, but a V-Lift plan often combines hyaluronic-acid dermal fillers to define the cheekbones and chin, jawline slimming injections to relax an enlarged jaw muscle, and energy-based devices to firm the skin and refine the under-chin. The exact combination is decided after Dr Nina has assessed your face.
How does the V-Lift make my face look slimmer?
It works by balance rather than removal. Defining the cheekbones and projecting the chin lengthens and narrows the face visually, while relaxing an enlarged jaw muscle and firming the under-chin softens width at the lower face. Together these create a slimmer, more V-shaped outline without surgery.
Why is the price on application (POA)?
Because the V-Lift is fully bespoke, there is no single fixed price — the cost depends on which treatments make up your individual plan and how much of each is needed. Dr Nina confirms your personalised plan and its full price in writing after your consultation (from £200), with no obligation to proceed.
How much does the V-Lift cost in London?
It is quoted on application rather than as a set fee, because every plan is different. Your exact cost is built up from the specific treatments in your plan and confirmed in writing after a consultation, which starts from £200. You are never charged for treatments you do not need.
Does the V-Lift remove a double chin?
It can help reduce the appearance of a double chin and upper-neck widening, particularly where this is driven by soft tissue and laxity, often using energy-based treatments such as Endolift® alongside jaw and chin definition. A very heavy, fat-driven double chin may need a different approach, which Dr Nina will discuss honestly at consultation.
How is jaw slimming achieved?
When a wide jaw is driven by an enlarged chewing (masseter) muscle — sometimes linked to clenching or grinding — muscle-relaxing injections can gradually soften and slim it over a few weeks. Dr Nina will assess whether your width is muscular, and therefore suitable for this, as part of the V-Lift plan.
How long do V-Lift results last?
It depends on the components. Filler-based definition typically lasts several months to longer, jaw-slimming injections usually last a few months before the muscle gradually returns, and firming builds and is maintained over time. Results are not permanent, so Dr Nina will recommend a sensible maintenance schedule.
When will I see results?
Cheek and chin definition from fillers can be visible quickly once initial swelling settles. Jaw slimming develops over a few weeks as the muscle reduces, and skin firming builds gradually. Many patients see optimal results around two to three months after treatment. Individual results vary.
Is there much downtime after the V-Lift?
Downtime depends on your specific plan. Injectable elements may cause temporary swelling, tenderness or small bruises for a few days, while energy-based treatments have their own short recovery. Dr Nina explains the expected downtime for your plan at consultation so you can schedule it conveniently.
Is the V-Lift painful?
Most patients find it very tolerable. Topical numbing is used where injectables are involved, and many injectable products contain anaesthetic for comfort. Any tenderness afterwards is usually mild and short-lived, and your practitioner will explain exactly what to expect for each part of your plan.
How is the V-Lift different from the W-Lift?
The V-Lift is about slimming a face that looks wide or round, while the W-Lift is about lifting and redefining a lower face that has lost support and definition. They share some tools but solve different concerns — Dr Nina will advise which suits your face, and they are sometimes combined.
Can the V-Lift change my bone structure?
No. The V-Lift works on muscle, volume and skin — it cannot alter your underlying bone. Where facial width is largely skeletal, a non-surgical V-Lift has limits, and Dr Nina will tell you honestly if a surgical opinion would serve you better.
Is the V-Lift safe?
The V-Lift uses established, regulated treatments delivered by a doctor-led team. As with any medical aesthetic treatment, careful assessment, accurate planning and practitioner experience are central to safety. Possible side effects depend on the components used and are discussed in full at consultation, where Dr Nina will only proceed if she believes the plan is appropriate for you.
Is a consultation required before the V-Lift?
Yes — it is essential, because the V-Lift is entirely bespoke. The consultation lets Dr Nina establish what is widening your face, confirm whether the treatment is suitable, design your personalised plan and agree the price in writing before anything is booked.
