"I recently had a virtual consultation with Dr Nina for my melasma condition. I have been trying many different treatment options over the past year since it has developed and nothing really seemed to work. Dr Nina prescribed a variety of medical grade treatments and only after TEN (this is not at all an exaggeration) days the melasma on my cheeks has significantly reduced to the point that my friend said she couldn’t even see it. Not only has this experience improved my skin’s condition, but it has helped my mental health and confidence dramatically. Dr Nina is extremely personable, charming and I felt that she really understood my concerns. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and I would 100% go back for other treatments, as she has gained my full trust."

The treatment
What is InMode Contoura?
InMode Contoura is a cutting-edge radiofrequency (RF) facial-sculpting system designed to lift, firm and tighten the skin by delivering controlled energy deep into the dermis. This stimulates natural collagen production, enhances elasticity and reshapes the contours of the face. It brings together three complementary technologies — Forma for comfortable, controlled sub-dermal heating that tightens skin and refines the jawline; MiniFX for targeting small, problematic pockets of fat such as the under-chin, jawline and buccal area while tightening the overlying skin; and a finishing lymphatic drainage massage that helps clear released fat, improves circulation and gently lifts and sculpts.
The treatment is fully customisable: settings can be tailored to focus purely on skin tightening — from the nose-to-mouth area and mid-to-lower face to under the chin and neck — or to include gentle fat refinement, or to avoid fat reduction entirely. Because it works without needles, incisions or downtime, InMode Contoura is well suited to mild-to-moderate laxity and definition concerns. A Forma Eye add-on targets the under-eye area to lift and smooth the skin and improve the appearance of mild sagging or hollowness.
InMode Contoura is one of several energy-based options for firmness and contour — see our advanced laser & radiofrequency treatments for how it compares with EMFACE® and Endolift®, and the honest limitations below for where another route may suit you better.
Concerns it can help
What does InMode Contoura address?
InMode Contoura is designed for mild-to-moderate laxity, jawline definition and contour — not for significant excess skin or deep volume loss.
Honest suitability
Is InMode Contoura right for you?
InMode Contoura is not for everyone — and we will tell you if it is not the best option for you. Final suitability is always confirmed at consultation.
Often well suited
- Mild-to-moderate skin laxity in the lower face or under-eye area
- Wanting to define the jawline and sculpt facial contours
- Small, stubborn pockets of fat under the chin or along the jaw
- Preferring a non-surgical, no-downtime treatment with no needles
- Happy to follow a course of 4–6 sessions for the best result
- Realistic expectations of a natural, gradual improvement
May not be suitable
- Significant excess skin or advanced sagging needing surgery
- Certain implanted electronic or metal devices (assessed individually)

The process
How InMode Contoura works, step by step
- Consultation & assessmentDr Nina or the team assess your skin, facial anatomy, medical history and goals, and confirm whether InMode Contoura is suitable or whether another option is safer or more effective.
- Plan & settingsYour plan is personalised — focusing on skin tightening, jawline definition, gentle fat refinement, the under-eye area, or a combination — and the settings are tailored to you.
- Forma RF tighteningThe Forma handpiece delivers comfortable, controlled sub-dermal heat to stimulate collagen, tighten skin and refine the jawline and jowl area.
- MiniFX & lymphatic massageWhere appropriate, MiniFX targets small pockets of fat while tightening skin, and a finishing lymphatic drainage massage helps clear released fat, boost circulation and sculpt the contour.
- Aftercare & your courseYou receive tailored aftercare advice, and your remaining sessions (usually 4–6) are scheduled so results can build as collagen rebuilds.
“A less-is-more philosophy: InMode Contoura only when it’s genuinely right for you — for firmer, more defined contours that still look like you.”
The Facial Sculpting approach · Dr Nina BalBefore treatment
What happens at your consultation
A consultation is recommended before InMode Contoura. During your initial consultation with Dr Nina and her team you will have a clinical assessment and your suitability for treatment reviewed. You will be talked through the procedure in detail — what to expect during and after — and given the opportunity to ask questions.
The consultation covers your medical history, a facial-anatomy assessment, your suitability and any contraindications, realistic expected outcomes, alternatives if InMode Contoura is not ideal, aftercare, and confirmation of your individual plan and price.
Results & recovery
What to expect afterwards
InMode Contoura involves no downtime. Because it is non-invasive, gentle and needle-free, most patients return to their daily activities immediately afterwards. The skin may look slightly flushed and feel warm for a short while. Where the MiniFX technology is used to refine fat, mild bruising can occasionally occur, but this is uncommon and settles on its own.
Results & longevity: many patients notice firmer, more defined skin soon after a session, with results continuing to develop over the following weeks and months as new collagen forms. A course is recommended for the best result, and because the skin continues to age naturally, results are long-lasting rather than permanent — maintenance sessions may be advised. Outcomes vary with anatomy, skin quality and lifestyle.
Typical results timeline
Skin may feel warm and look slightly flushed; you can return to normal activities straight away.
An early tightening effect is often felt as the skin responds to the radiofrequency.
Firmness and definition build session by session as collagen forms.
Results continue to refine over the months after your final session; maintenance may be advised.
Safety
Possible risks & side effects
InMode Contoura uses controlled, FDA-cleared radiofrequency energy and is generally well tolerated, with most patients feeling only a warming sensation and a gentle tightening during treatment. Common effects are mild, temporary warmth and flushing; with the MiniFX technology, occasional mild bruising or tenderness can occur. Less common effects are discussed individually at consultation.
Careful patient selection, appropriate settings and an experienced practitioner are important for a safe, sensible result. If anything is unexpected after treatment, you can contact the clinic for advice.
Honest limitations
What InMode Contoura cannot do
- It cannot remove significant excess skin or replace a surgical facelift.
- It cannot correct advanced sagging or marked jowling on its own.
- It is not a weight-loss treatment — MiniFX refines small pockets, not large volumes of fat.
- It does not deliver instant, dramatic change — results build over a course.

What our patients say about Facial Sculpting Clinic
Real reviews from patients who chose Dr Nina Bal and the Facial Sculpting team.
Dr. Nina got my Botox perfectly right on the first visit. I have seen many injecting doctors over the years, I have tricky uneven brows - one is higher than the other and I normally like to balance and lift them slightly. It’s a difficult job for many doctors. The results of treatment with Dr. Nina are just what I was looking for, if not better than expected and I didn’t even need the top up/ correction appointment! I got so many compliments on how well and fresh I look!! So happy with the results, Dr. Nina certainly knows how to do a good Botox
I was a little nervous to get into the cosmetic procedures game but Dr Nina was so gentle and kind and worked with me to achieve the natural look I wanted. Your questions
InMode Contoura FAQs
What is InMode Contoura?
InMode Contoura is a non-surgical radiofrequency facial-sculpting system that lifts, firms and tightens the skin and refines the contours of the face and neck. It combines RF skin tightening (Forma), targeted fat refinement (MiniFX) and a finishing lymphatic drainage massage to stimulate collagen and define the jawline.
How does InMode Contoura work?
It delivers controlled radiofrequency energy deep into the dermis to stimulate collagen and tighten skin. Forma provides comfortable sub-dermal heating to firm skin and refine the jawline; MiniFX targets small pockets of fat such as the under-chin while tightening the overlying skin; and a lymphatic massage helps clear released fat and sculpt the contour.
Who is InMode Contoura for?
It suits people with mild-to-moderate skin laxity in the lower face or under-eye area who want non-surgical tightening and lifting, those wishing to define the jawline and sculpt facial features, and anyone wanting a collagen boost for firmer skin. Suitability is confirmed at consultation.
What areas can be treated?
InMode Contoura focuses on the mid and lower face, jawline, jowl area, under the chin and neck, and can address the nose-to-mouth area. The Forma Eye add-on targets the under-eye area to lift and smooth the skin. Your plan is tailored to your concerns.
What is the Forma Eye add-on?
Forma Eye is an add-on that uses the same controlled radiofrequency heating around the delicate under-eye area to lift and smooth the skin and improve the appearance of mild sagging or hollowness. At Facial Sculpting it is available from £200 alongside your InMode Contoura treatment.
Is InMode Contoura safe?
Yes — InMode Contoura is a clinically proven, FDA-cleared treatment that delivers safe, controlled radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen and tighten skin. As with any medical aesthetic treatment, careful patient selection, appropriate settings and practitioner experience are central to safety, and Dr Nina will only proceed where she believes it is appropriate for you.
Does InMode Contoura hurt?
No — the treatment is comfortable, and most patients experience a warming sensation and a gentle tightening effect during the procedure. No anaesthetic is needed because it is non-invasive.
Is there any downtime?
No — there is no downtime and you can resume normal activities immediately after a session. The skin may feel warm and look slightly flushed briefly. Please be mindful that mild bruising can occur in some cases where the MiniFX technology is used.
How many sessions will I need?
Most patients need around 4–6 sessions, spaced 1–2 weeks apart, to achieve optimal lifting and sculpting. The exact number depends on your skin and goals and is confirmed at consultation, with maintenance sessions advised over time.
When will I see results and how long do they last?
Many patients notice firmer, more defined skin soon after a session, with results continuing to develop over the following weeks and months as new collagen forms. Because skin continues to age, results are long-lasting rather than permanent, and maintenance sessions may be recommended.
Does InMode Contoura reduce fat or a double chin?
The MiniFX technology can refine small, stubborn pockets of fat — such as a mild under-chin fullness or along the jawline — while tightening the skin, and a finishing lymphatic massage helps clear released fat. It is not a weight-loss treatment and is best for discrete fullness rather than a heavy double chin; your anatomy is assessed at consultation.
How does InMode Contoura compare with EMFACE®?
Both are non-invasive and use radiofrequency, but EMFACE® also adds HIFES™ electromagnetic stimulation to work the facial muscle, making it well suited to tone and a subtle lift. InMode Contoura focuses on RF skin tightening, contouring and gentle fat refinement of the face and neck. Dr Nina will advise which is more appropriate, and they can be complementary.
How does InMode Contoura compare with Endolift® or HIFU?
InMode Contoura is fully non-invasive RF delivered through the skin surface. Endolift® is minimally invasive — a fine laser fibre is placed under the skin for stronger, deeper tightening of early-to-moderate laxity, with about a day of downtime. HIFU uses focused ultrasound for a non-invasive lift. Dr Nina will recommend the right route for your anatomy and goals.
Can InMode Contoura be combined with other treatments?
Yes. It is often planned alongside skin boosters such as Profhilo® for skin quality, tone treatments like EMFACE®, or deeper tightening such as Endolift®. During your consultation Dr Nina will advise whether combination therapy is appropriate and the right order.
Can InMode Contoura replace a facelift?
No. InMode Contoura is a non-surgical treatment for mild-to-moderate laxity and contour; it cannot remove significant excess skin or correct advanced sagging. Where there is meaningful skin excess or descent, a surgical opinion may be more appropriate, and Dr Nina will tell you honestly what it can and cannot achieve.
How much does InMode Contoura cost in London?
At Facial Sculpting InMode Contoura starts from £790, with the Forma Eye under-eye add-on from £200. A course of 4–6 sessions is usually recommended; your exact plan and price are confirmed at consultation.
Is a consultation required first?
A consultation is recommended to assess your skin, facial anatomy, medical history and goals, confirm whether InMode Contoura is suitable (or whether another option is better), and agree your individual plan and price.
