Dr Nina Bal in Metro on Smoothing Your Way to Healthier Skin

The Metro masthead above the headline Smooth your way to healthier skin, the feature of 7 October 2026 quoting Dr Nina Bal

Publication: Metro. Published: 7 October 2026. Feature: Smooth your way to healthier skin.

Metro asked a panel of experts which small changes to a daily routine make a real difference to the skin, and Dr Nina Bal, Advanced Facial Aesthetics Clinician and founder of Facial Sculpting, was one of them. The question put to her was the silk pillowcase, a habit widely recommended and rarely explained.

Her answer in the feature: "A silk pillowcase is a lovely small change because it creates less friction against the skin while you sleep, particularly if you are prone to sensitivity or creasing." She set the expectation alongside it: "It is not a miracle treatment but combined with good sleep and a consistent skincare routine, these little habits can all add up."

That is the same order of priority we work through in clinic. Sleep, routine and friction are the habits a patient controls, and they sit underneath any treatment rather than instead of one. Where a concern needs more than a habit, the guides explain what is happening in the skin and what addresses it: fine lines and wrinkles, skin quality and radiance and sagging skin. Every treatment here starts with a consultation, and the patient guide sets out the questions worth asking before anything is booked. Current costs are on the prices page.

The feature ran in Metro's print and digital edition of 7 October 2026. A stable link has been requested from the publication and will be added here when it is available.
