The treatment

What are AlumierMD customisable peels?

AlumierMD customisable peels are medical-grade chemical peels that are adjusted to your skin at each appointment rather than offered as a single fixed formula. After assessing your skin, your therapist selects the most suitable peel — and any supporting boosters — to gently lift dull, dead surface cells, encourage healthy cell turnover and reveal a brighter, smoother, more even complexion. The aim is better skin quality, not a change to your facial structure.

At Facial Sculpting we offer three peels in this range, each from £250: the Radiant Peel (Glycolic and Lactic), a brightening alpha-hydroxy-acid blend for tone and texture; the Radiant Peel (Lactic), a gentler, hydrating option well suited to more sensitive or first-time skin; and the Radiant Peel (TXA), which uses tranexamic acid to help address uneven tone and the look of pigmentation. Many people start to see a fresher glow after a single peel, with the best, longer-lasting results developing over a tailored course.

Peels are one of several ways to improve skin health — see our skin health treatments for how they compare with options such as the PRX-T33 no-needle peel or SkinPen microneedling, and the honest limitations below for where another route may suit you better.

Concerns it can help

What does AlumierMD Customisable Peels address?

AlumierMD peels are designed to refresh skin quality — brightness, texture and tone — across the face.

Honest suitability

Is AlumierMD Customisable Peels right for you?

AlumierMD peels are not for everyone — and we will tell you if they are not the best option for you. Final suitability is always confirmed at consultation.

Often well suited

  • Wanting brighter, smoother, more even-looking skin
  • Dullness, mild pigmentation or uneven tone
  • Early fine lines and rough or congested texture
  • Preferring a treatment with little or no downtime
  • Happy to follow a short course for the best result
  • Realistic expectations of a gradual skin-quality improvement

May not be suitable

  • Active or inflamed acne, eczema or rosacea flare in the area
  • Recent sun exposure, sunburn or a fresh tan
  • Current use of certain retinoids or recent resurfacing (timing assessed)
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding (subject to clinic policy)
  • A history of cold sores (may need prophylaxis) or keloid scarring
  • Expecting a peel to lift skin or replace injectables or laser

The process

How the peel works, step by step

  1. Consultation & skin assessmentDr Nina or the team assess your skin type, concerns, medical history and goals, and confirm whether a peel is suitable or whether another option is more effective.
  2. Choosing your peelOn the day, your therapist selects the most appropriate peel — glycolic and lactic, lactic-only or TXA — and any supporting boosters for your skin.
  3. Cleanse & prepThe skin is thoroughly cleansed and prepared so the peel can work evenly and comfortably.
  4. Peel appliedThe tailored peel is applied and left for a carefully timed period; you may feel mild warmth or tingling, which settles quickly.
  5. Aftercare & your courseThe skin is soothed and protected, you receive aftercare and sun-protection advice, and any further peels in your course are planned.

“A less-is-more philosophy: the right peel, at the right strength, only when it genuinely suits your skin — for healthy, natural-looking radiance.”

The Facial Sculpting approach · Dr Nina Bal

Before treatment

What happens at your consultation

A consultation and skin assessment are recommended before an AlumierMD peel. During your appointment with Dr Nina and her team your skin is assessed, your medical history reviewed and your suitability confirmed. You will be talked through the procedure in detail — what to expect during and after — and given the opportunity to ask questions.

The consultation covers your skin type and concerns, any contraindications, realistic expected outcomes, how a course and homecare work together, sun-protection and aftercare, and confirmation of which peel is right for you and the price.

Results & recovery

What to expect afterwards

AlumierMD peels involve little to no downtime. Some people have no redness at all, while others notice mild redness or a feeling of tightness for up to around 48 hours; light flaking can occasionally follow in the days afterwards. Your team provides aftercare guidance, and daily SPF is essential because the skin is more sensitive to sunlight after a peel.

Results & longevity: many people see a fresher, brighter complexion after a single peel, with smoother texture and more even tone developing over a course. Results are not permanent — they are best maintained with a sensible skincare routine, sun protection and occasional maintenance peels. Outcomes vary with skin type, lifestyle and consistency of aftercare.

Typical results timeline

Day of treatment

Skin may look slightly pink and feel a little tight; this usually settles within hours to a day.

Days 2–5

Some light flaking or renewal can occur as surface cells turn over; keep skin hydrated and protected.

~1 week

Skin typically looks brighter, smoother and more refreshed.

Over your course

Tone and texture continue to improve peel by peel, supported by good homecare.

Safety

Possible risks & side effects

AlumierMD peels are generally well tolerated, but as with any chemical peel there are some possible effects: temporary redness, tightness, dryness, mild flaking or sensitivity in the days afterwards. Less commonly, peels can cause temporary changes in pigmentation, particularly without diligent sun protection, which is why suitability and aftercare are discussed in full at consultation.

Careful skin assessment, the right peel choice and an experienced therapist are important for a safe, sensible result — especially in deeper skin tones, where peel selection matters. If anything is unexpected after treatment, you can contact the clinic for advice.

Honest limitations

What the peels can and cannot do

  • They improve skin quality — they do not lift, tighten or change facial structure.
  • They cannot remove deep static wrinkles or replace injectables, laser or surgery.
  • A single peel is rarely enough — best results come from a tailored course.
  • Results are not permanent and rely on ongoing skincare and sun protection.

I had EndoLift with Dr Nina at her clinic. I just wanted to share my experience With anyone who is looking to get endo lift or any other procedure done with Dr Nina. She is absolutely amazing so gentle and so kind she is so experienced in her field and knows whats best for you without trying to oversell you rather only whats needed. I was looking for this treatment for my double chin and picked the best place for it! it was a very comfortable treatment took about 30 mins. It permanently dissolves the fat there and tightens the area. She always checked on me to make sure im feeling ok. Its a week now and i can slowly see a difference im a little swollen and sore but the swelling is not noticeable to anyone. Cant wait for full results. Thank you Dr Nina.

If I could leave more than five stars I would! Dr Nina’s clinic is warm and welcoming, in a beautiful location close to Knightsbridge station. I had cheek fillers for the first time and my face was numbed prior. I was expecting to find it a little uncomfortable but honestly there was barely any pain at all. The needles are so fine, and Dr Nina was very gentle. I will be back as I know I am in good hands!

Your questions

AlumierMD peels: your questions answered

What are AlumierMD customisable peels?

They are medical-grade chemical peels that your therapist tailors to your skin at each appointment, choosing the right acid strength and any supporting boosters for your concern. They gently exfoliate the surface and encourage cell turnover to brighten and smooth the complexion. At Facial Sculpting we offer glycolic-and-lactic, lactic-only and tranexamic-acid (TXA) options.

What skin concerns can the peels help with?

AlumierMD peels can help with dullness, uneven skin tone and the look of pigmentation, fine lines, rough texture, and congested or blemish-prone skin. They improve overall skin quality rather than changing facial structure. The most suitable peel for your concern is chosen after a skin assessment.

How do customisable peels work?

The peel uses ingredients such as alpha-hydroxy acids (glycolic and lactic) or tranexamic acid to loosen dull, dead surface cells and encourage healthy renewal. This reveals fresher skin and, over a course, supports smoother texture and more even tone. Because the formula is adjusted to your skin, the strength can be built up sensibly over time.

How much do AlumierMD peels cost in London?

Each AlumierMD peel at Facial Sculpting is from £250 per session — this applies to the Radiant Peel (Glycolic and Lactic), the Radiant Peel (Lactic) and the Radiant Peel (TXA). Peels are usually best as a short course; your exact plan and any maintenance are confirmed after a skin assessment.

Is there any downtime after a peel?

Downtime is minimal and varies with the peel and your skin. Some people have no redness at all, while others notice mild redness or tightness for up to around 48 hours, and light flaking can occasionally follow. There is no need to take time off for most people, but daily SPF is essential afterwards.

How many sessions will I need?

For the best results we usually recommend a course of around 3–6 peels, spaced about 4 weeks apart, followed by maintenance treatments as needed. Many people see a brighter complexion after a single peel, but tone and texture improve most over a tailored course.

Are AlumierMD peels suitable for all skin types?

Most skin types can benefit from an AlumierMD peel, including more sensitive skin, because the peel and strength are tailored to you. In deeper skin tones, peel selection matters to reduce the risk of pigmentation changes, which is why a thorough skin assessment comes first. Some active skin conditions may mean a peel is delayed or another option is recommended.

Which peel is right for me — glycolic and lactic, lactic, or TXA?

The glycolic-and-lactic blend is a brightening option for tone and texture; the lactic-only peel is gentler and hydrating, well suited to sensitive or first-time skin; and the TXA (tranexamic-acid) peel is aimed at uneven tone and the look of pigmentation. Your therapist recommends the most suitable peel after assessing your skin and goals.

How should I prepare for my peel?

It is best to avoid sun exposure, sunbeds and fresh tanning for at least two weeks beforehand, and you may be advised to pause retinoids and strong exfoliants for a few days before your appointment. Let us know about any medications, recent treatments or a history of cold sores so we can plan safely.

Does a peel hurt?

Peels are generally comfortable. You may feel mild warmth, tingling or a slight prickling sensation as the peel is applied, and this settles quickly. No anaesthetic is needed because the peel is applied topically to the skin surface.

How soon will I see results and how long do they last?

Many people notice a fresher, brighter complexion within a few days of a single peel, with smoother texture and more even tone developing over a course. Results can last for several months and are best maintained with good skincare, sun protection and occasional top-up peels.

Can I have a peel before an event?

Yes, but timing matters. A gentle peel can leave skin glowing for an event, but because some people experience mild redness or light flaking, we usually recommend having a peel at least a week beforehand. We will advise on timing based on the peel chosen and your skin.

Can peels be combined with other treatments?

Yes. AlumierMD peels are often combined with Dermalux LED to calm and support the skin, or planned around treatments such as SkinPen microneedling for texture. Dr Nina and the team will advise what is sensible to combine and the right order, so treatments support rather than overload your skin.

What aftercare do I need?

Keep the skin clean, well hydrated and protected, avoid picking any flaking, and pause strong actives such as retinoids and acids until your skin has settled. Daily broad-spectrum SPF is essential, as skin is more sensitive to sunlight after a peel. You will be given tailored aftercare and homecare advice.

Is a consultation required before a peel?

A consultation and skin assessment are recommended to check your skin type and concerns, review your medical history, confirm which peel is suitable (or whether another option is better), and agree your plan and price. This is especially important for sensitive skin and deeper skin tones.
