Lutronic LaseMD Ultra Thulium Laser

The Lutronic LaseMD Ultra is a non-ablative thulium (1927nm) laser designed to provide deep dermal revitalisation. It creates microscopic channels in the skin that stimulate collagen and cellular renewal, treating concerns such as sun damage, pigmentation and uneven tone, and the channels also allow active ingredients to be infused into the skin.

The thulium laser is passed across the skin, creating an array of microscopic channels that trigger the skin’s natural healing process, promoting collagen production and cellular renewal. Immediately afterwards, a selected active serum — such as Vitamin C, retinol, tranexamic acid or resveratrol — is infused through those channels to enhance brightening and renewal.

It is ideal for improving skin texture, pigmentation, fine lines and overall rejuvenation, and can also address sun damage, photoageing, melasma, large pores and active acne. It is a tone-and-texture treatment rather than one for lifting or volume.

The treatment is designed to be paired with specifically chosen actives — ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), retinol (Vitamin A), tranexamic acid and resveratrol. These are infused through the microscopic channels created by the laser to boost brightening, antioxidant and skin-renewing effects. It is non-ablative, meaning it resurfaces the skin gently without removing the surface layer in the way an ablative laser does. This gives meaningful rejuvenation with much less downtime than aggressive ablative resurfacing, while still stimulating collagen and renewal.

A LaseMD Ultra treatment typically takes around 20–30 minutes, which is why it is often described as a simple and fast laser treatment.

A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand so most patients find it comfortable. During treatment you may feel warmth and a prickling sensation, and the skin feels warm afterwards, similar to a light sunburn. Any discomfort is generally mild and short-lived.

Downtime is minimal. You may experience redness and mild peeling or flaking for around 1–3 days, after which the skin looks fresher and more even. This makes it suitable for patients seeking a quick recovery, and make-up can usually be worn once the skin has calmed.

The thulium 1927nm laser can be a thoughtful choice for a range of skin tones, but in deeper or sun-reactive skin any laser carries a higher risk of pigment change and must be assessed carefully.
