Looking to find the best cosmetic procedures for your face that will help you achieve the better version of yourself, no matter your age?
You’ve come to the right place!
Aging is a natural process and whether we like it or not our faces will sooner or later show signs of the years passing by. At some point, everyone is going to notice little wrinkles around their eyes or lips, age spots, sagging skin, and so on.
In the past, there used to be just a few options for turning back the clock without having to undergo invasive plastic surgeries. But today, you can slow down and – in many cases – reverse the effects of time on your face with many non-surgical cosmetic procedures.
Injectables, laser treatments, and professional skincare treatments can dramatically improve the skin’s appearance, reducing wrinkles and clearing away visible signs of aging.
Let’s have a look at the cosmetic procedures performed by Dr Nina Bal that will have the best results on your face and restore your youthful glow without the need for surgery.
Most Popular Cosmetic Procedure For Your Face by Dr Nina
Dr Nina is passionate about enhancing a patient’s innate beauty. Her philosophy is ‘less is more’ and she loves to make subtle aesthetic tweaks that lead to excellent, yet natural, results.
Abiding by the Golden Ratio of Beauty – the mathematical symmetry algorithm that underlies our perception of attractiveness – she can transform a face aesthetically within minutes.
Dr Nina’s services include restorative cosmetic dentistry, facial aesthetic treatments and aesthetic medicine, non-surgical cosmetic procedures, and non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments.
For clarity, we will divide these non-surgical facial procedures into two categories:
- Facial rejuvenation procedures
- Facial sculpting
The Best Facial Rejuvenation Procedures
Non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures aim to smooth wrinkles, restore volume, tighten sagging skin, improve skin tone and texture, minimise scars and imperfections, treat sun damage and more.
The most popular rejuvenation procedures for the face performed by Dr Nina Bal at her London clinics include:
- Injectable fillers
- Chemical peels
- Microneedling with Dermaroller, Derma Stamp or Dermapen
- Skin Boosters
- Thread Face Lift
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or even enhance facial contours.
At Facial Sculpting, we use only the best quality products approved in UK. These include Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse and Ellanse, all extremely safe temporary fillers. Ellanse and Radiesse also acts as a collagen stimulator, adding more volume and definition.
To inject fillers under the skin, Dr Nina uses Pediatric 32 gauge needles, the smallest needles available on the market, which cause minimal pain.
Benefits of using fillers
- Smooth out lines around nose and mouth (ie. Marionette lines, nose-to-mouth lines, etc.)
- Enhance and restore volume to sunken cheeks or temples
- Plump and enhance the lips
- Smooth out a chin crease
- Improve symmetry among facial features
Depending on the product and the areas treated, you should be able to notice results immediately after receiving filler injections, and you will be able to go back to your normal activities right after treatment.
The results of the treatment can last up to 6-12 months sometimes longer depending on how fast your metabolism works. Every person’s individual metabolism is different to the next, the longevity of filler will also vary greatly from one person to another. For those with a very fast metabolic rate, the filler will break down more rapidly than in those with a slower metabolic rate.
While the risks associated with dermal fillers are minimal, all risks and complications will be discussed with Dr Nina during your first consultation appointment. Side effects can include swelling, bruising tenderness, itching.
Facial skin peels are a very popular and safe non-surgical procedure that can boost your skin’s appearance and help to dramatically reduce the effects of skin damage. Skin peels use a low-concentration peeling agent to remove old, dead skin cells from the outer layers of the skin and reveal newer, firmer and smoother-looking skin.
Depending on how many layers of skin are removed, a peel will often be classified as light, medium, or deep.
- Light chemical peels will typically reach partially through the outermost layers of skin and use a milder acid solution such as glycolic acid, alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), salicylic acid, fruit enzymes, or a low concentration of trichloroacetic acid (TCA). Light peels typically involve little to no downtime, and results can be seen immediately.
- Deeper chemical peels will reach further into the epidermis – or even deeper – and are recommended to address more advanced signs of aging, such as deeper wrinkles and extensive sun damage, or severe acne scars. With deeper peels, 7 to 10 days of downtime are typically required to allow the skin to heal optimally.
Benefits of using chemical peels
- Reduce or remove age spots or discoloration
- Smooth fine lines and wrinkles
- Minimise or remove scars
- Tighten and tone the skin and brighten the complexion
- Remove keratoses or precancerous growths
Dr Nina recommends skin peels to everyone, as they’re the entry point of all non-surgical aesthetic treatments. Plus with the treatment lasting up to an hour, you can squeeze a facial peel into a lunch break!
Microneedling with Dermaroller, Derma Stamp or Dermapen
Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a skin resurfacing technology that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny, sterile needles. Instead of removing layers of skin with chemicals, microneedling creates microscopic “injuries” in the skin that trigger its natural healing response and prompt it to produce new collagen and elastin.
A topical anesthetic is used to numb the skin before the needles are introduced with a choice of microneedling devices – Dermaroller, Derma Stamp, or Dermapen. The difference between these devices lies in their shape, and Dr Nina will assess which device is most suitable for you during the consultation.
Benefits of using microneedling
- Smooth fine lines and wrinkles
- Minimise acne or surgical scars, and stretch marks
- Shrink large pore size
- Treat sun damage, age spots and hyperpigmentation
- Smooth rough patches and texture
Results can be seen within six weeks. Dr Nina recommends a minimum of three sessions every four weeks, which will lead to further rejuvenation, less visible stretch marks and faded scarring.
A slightly sunburnt complexion is common immediately after treatment and will last up to 48 hours.
Profhilo is a stabilised injectable hyaluronic acid, free of any chemical crosslinking agents, which is used for tissue remodeling and the treatment of skin laxity.
The key to Profhilo’s popularity is a unique structure and balance of scientific properties, including a high cohesivity, that allow the product to flow freely through the subcutaneous tissue and the dermis, in a way that traditional hyaluronic acid fillers cannot.
Profhilo can be administered in a number of different ways. The most common and effective method is to use the BAP (bio aesthetic points) technique, which means five areas on each side of the face are injected. While this will vary slightly depending on your face shape, the positions are usually on the lower part of the face.
– In the physiological process of aging tissue, in presence of alterations in elastic fibers and collagen.
– In the dermal tissue repair process, in cases of acne or scars.
– In case of loss or compromised adipose tissue.
Areas to treat are face or neck, or both.
Benefits include better hydration, luminosity, sparkle, firmness, strength to the skin, with a very potent anti-ageing effect.
Patients can expect increased firmness, elasticity, and overall improved quality of the skin, with the effects lasting up to six months.
Two treatments are recommended four weeks apart, with a follow-up appointment at week eight, to be repeated twice a year for optimal results.
Skin boosters is a dermal filler designed to be injected superficially into the surface of the skin to increase skin hydration and glow. Dr. Nina uses Restylane Vital, which can help to gradually improve the skin’s condition by increasing elasticity and reducing fine lines and imperfections.
Restylane is basically hyaluronic acid in a liquid form, which is injected in the cheeks, nose to mouth, chin, neck, and décolletage areas, to stimulate collagen production and hydrate the skin from the deeper layers.
It works with a cumulative effect, so between 3 to 6 sessions 2 – 4 weeks apart are recommended.
Thread Face Lift
Thread lift with V Soft Line is the new generation of facelift where no surgical intervention is required. It’s a popular facial aesthetic treatment that resets your face V-shape by placing thin lifting threads subdermally or intradermally.
V Soft Line addresses some problems associated with facial aging that are only otherwise dealt with by invasive surgery, in particular sagging aspects of the low face, neck and jawline. Although the results cannot be compared to surgery, the treatment is more affordable and tolerable and can be combined with other treatments like fillers for optimal results.
The treatment takes about 30-60 minutes and is performed by inserting a thin needle under the skin. The procedure is similar to filler treatments.
Thread is thinner than a hair strand and consists of monofilament polydioxanone (PDO), a biocompatible suture material that holds the tissue and stimulates collagen formation.
Benefits of thread face lift
V Soft Line is a minor non-invasive treatment with thin threads that lift the skin, increase elasticity. The threads are completely biodegradable. Side effects are minimal except for possible bruising and swelling. Immediately after the treatment you may return to your normal daily activities.
Durability can vary from one to two years, depending on age, lifestyle and skin type. Results generally last longer in people who take care of their skin and general health by avoiding the sun, following a healthy diet and refrain from smoking.
The Best Facial Sculpting Procedures
Now that we’ve covered the best cosmetic procedures for your face’s rejuvenation, let’s have a look at the non-surgical procedures that fall into our second category: facial sculpting.
Facial Sculpting is a concept rather than a surgical procedure.Dr Nina Bal
Dr Nina has seen for herself the positive effects of facial sculpting,
not only in terms of aesthetics but also in confidence and self-esteem.
This is why she is so passionate about sharing those benefits with you and continues to trial all our latest treatments personally, so that she can
reliably advise her patients.
The most popular facial sculpting procedures performed by Dr Nina Bal at her London clinics include:
Face Shape Sculpting
The shape of your face plays a huge part when it comes to beauty. Many people do not like their face shape, feeling it is too round, too square, or it is spoilt by asymmetrical features (with symmetry proven to be a key factor in perceived female attractiveness).
Knowing and understanding your face shape can help you make decisions about makeup, hair and which way to turn for that photo!
Any face shape can also be flattered and rejuvenated by more sculpted cheekbones and a sharper jawline. However, facial sculpting is Dr Nina’s specialty and we can also work with you to move towards your desired face shape, using dermal fillers and wrinkle treatments to add volume and structure.
Side-profile sculpting is another non-surgical cosmetic procedure for your face that can boost your confidence in just a few minutes.
Our main client base for this procedure is men and women who request nasal bridge-building, a nose tip lift and jawline and chin sculpting, or who are unhappy with a less defined side profile that gives them the overall appearance of a ‘flat face’ from the side.
Dr Nina will be able to provide you with a bespoke treatment plan to achieve your dream facial contour in a matter of weeks. In her role as qualified dental surgeon, Dr Nina also understands dental occlusion and malocclusion and, at assessment, can gauge any dental background to facial asymmetry.
Face Asymmetry Correction
There’s a mathematical symmetry algorithm that underlies our perception of attractiveness called the Golden Ratio of Beauty. This essentially proves symmetry to be a key factor in perceived attractiveness, especially in female faces.
During the initial consultation appointment, Dr. Nina uses the Golden Ratio formula, as well as her own personal assessment, to analyze her client’s face and devise a specific treatment plan.
This method works particularly well when it comes to correct a patient’s visible facial asymmetry, such as one eyebrow higher than the other, or one cheek fuller than the other.
Whether your goal is to rejuvenate or refine your facial contours, you can be sure that Dr. Nina Bal at Facial Sculpting can recommend the best cosmetic procedures for your face to help you enhance your natural beauty.
